The US Departments of Education and Health and Human Services awarded 9 state winners of the Race to the Top-Early Learning Challenge Competition. The competition was funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation, the Kresge Foundation, and the Skillman Foundation.
Eventhough Michigan did not win the $500 million, the foundations hope the state will continue to move forward with its vision for early childhood education and work to help children succeed from an early age.
